The WeberHaus story
Milestones

WeberHaus is one of the most successful construction companies. Since its foundation in 1960, the WeberHaus concept has repeatedly set new standards for the construction of modern homes. The proverbial quality of WeberHaus, many innovations, and our systematic focus on customer needs have helped us become the leading company in the business.

The 1960s - early days

In 1960, the master carpenter Hans Weber founded a carpentry business in Rheinau-Linx. A year later he had built three houses using the timber frame construction method. By 1969, almost 130 houses had been completed.

The 1970s - focus on house construction

Hans Weber focused exclusively on building houses off-site. The WeberHaus brand was born. In 1972, the first halls in the production plant in Rheinau-Linx went into operation. In 1979, the second WeberHaus plant was built in Wenden-Hüsborn in the Sauerland region. WeberHaus cooperated with many innovative architects to set new standards in building detached family homes. 3,142 houses were built between 1970 and 1979.

Low-energy house

The 1980s - research and development

The Owner Centre was opened in Rheinau-Linx to provide in-depth consulting for existing and prospective customers on building and appointing their own homes. Together with the Fraunhofer Institute, WeberHaus launched the Low-Energy House research project in 1982. Since then, WeberHaus has remained a pioneer in the development of ecologically and economically outstanding house and building technology concepts. 8,906 houses were built between 1980 and 1989.

The "Oevolution" house concept

The 1990s - innovations for Germany

The low-energy house became the standard at WeberHaus. In 1996, the Oevolution house, developed in conjunction with the Fraunhofer Institute, became the apex of energy-saving construction technology. It was one of the very first zero-energy houses to be developed.

In 1994, the TwinHaus concept was introduced and subsequently became a great success. An assembly shop was opened in Isseroda near Weimar. In 1998, the 20,000th WeberHaus house was handed over to its owners. A total of 10,333 houses were built between 1990 and 1999.

The new millennium - architecture for Europe

In 2000, WeberHaus launched the World of Living in Rheinau-Linx. This was Europe's first theme park on architecture, living and lifestyle - a magnet for prospective homeowners and many others too.

The intelligent T-Com house

The innovative highlight of the company's history to date is the T-Com house in Berlin.

This house, designed and built by WeberHaus, presents the state of the art of modern communications technology.

To date, WeberHaus has built a total of 29,000 houses in Germany, France, Switzerland and several other countries.
