Most households include a plethora of electronic devices - from radio alarms to computers. And now we have the trend towards second mobile phones. The consequence: people are contsnatly exposed to electromagnetic radiation. Scientists are still debating the precise effects of electrical smog on the human organism - but only the scale, not the existence of its damaging effect on health. This is why WeberHaus has developed a comprehensive programme to protect its houses against electrical smog, which can be installed if desired or advisable.
A distinction must be made between high-frequency und low-frequency electrical fields. Low-frequnecy radiation as caused, for example, by high voltage power lines and almost all household appliances is regarded as largely unproblematic - though it may cause especially sensitive people to experience sleep disorders and headaches. Electrical fields remain in place when no current is flowing, but electrical appliances are still connected to the mains supply. All one can do is keep away or pull the plug. The network release system from WeberHaus makes things easier: it cuts off the power supply automatically when downstream "users" are switched off. In addition, WeberHaus uses specially shielded cables and sockets in its houses.
High-frequency electromagnetic fields are more critical and can be a health hazard. They are caused e.g. by radio and TV sets, radar and guide beams in aviation control and satellite signals such as those used for navigation systems, telecommunications, weather monitoring and military purposes. Above all, however, high-frequency mobile telecommunications stations are suspected of being the most likely cause of headache, limb pain and nervous excitation.
