Well-planned partnerships
Saving on property prices by building in tandem

A well-planned semi-detached house gives you the lifestyle of a detached home for half the price of a separate property. The financial advantage of this strategy can be considerable, since property prices account for up to 50 percent of total building costs in some areas. And there is no reason why semi-detached houses should look monotonous.

With creative, personal designs, both parties can find plenty of scope for realising their personal dreams. Off-site construction systems offer a surprisingly large range of designs that make use of this potential. The halves of a semi-detached house can be skilfully separated from each other even optically to give each family its own outdoor areas - e.g. a terrace - in perfect privacy.   By slightly staggering the two halves of the house, an informal structure can be achieved that gives the residents of each half a high degree of seclusion.

An attractive entrée, balconies, alcoves, roofed terraces and different window shapes give a semi-detached house a special cachet.

Economically convincing

Both families can design their half of the floorplan as they wish. WeberHaus takes special care to ensure that the wall between them provides excellent soundproofing. For example, WeberHaus builds each half of the house with its own exterior wall at the join. This is a very effective soundproofing measure.

Semi-detached houses are extremely economical: With the heating energy requirements already low due to excellent thermal insulation, the lower proportion of exterior walls in a semi-detached house means that thermal energy needs can be reduced by another 15 to 20 per cent.
